What’s been happening:

Sonya Hunte is a Social Work professional with a career in serving women and children. She is the CEO of Hunte Community Development Consulting LLC, a company specializing in non profit strategic program development and community partnership planning. Sonya has worked in mid management for the Department of Human Resources, Division of Family and Children Services and Fulton County Government, Juvenile Justice. Prior, Sonya was a Social Services Specialist serving the women and children of DeKalb County, Georgia. Since 2005, she has been a Practicum Instructor for Bachelor and Master of Social Work students from the University of Georgia, Georgia State and Clark Atlanta Universities. Sonya's passion to promote leadership, self esteem and sufficiency for women and girls is evident in her community leadership. She serves on the board of directors for the My Sister's Keeper Foundation for Women and is the chair of the organizations, Single Mothers Assistance program. Sonya has served on the Atlanta Women's Foundation, Grants Allocation Committee. Sonya is an alumnus of the Atlanta Women's Foundation, Destiny Fund and the United Way of Metro Atlanta Volunteer Involvement Program. Sonya received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from the Pennsylvania State University (1999) and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Boston College (2001).
